There are hundreds of local events each year, from traditional 'Fest Noz' Breton dancing, to cultural festivals such as art exhibitions. Many of these events take place in public spaces and entry is free.

The area has a strong association with horses and several festivals of the horse are held each year.  These are actively suported by the  local riding centres and equestrian schools.  Many centres offer trecking.

Live music is plentiful in Brittany, especially during the summer.  Towns and villages often have free musical events on Tuesday evenings in the town square with, of course, crêpes, cider and other food and refreshments.  Several major pop festivals are held across the region.

Theatre and street theatre are often to be seen, and these can be very spectacular and often involve some spectator involvement.
