The diversity of the coast in Finistere is breathtaking. There are long, sandy beaches and rocky coves. The imposing granite rocks with their splits and fissures take you back to a time before pre-history.

Throughout the area different rock formations create an ever-changing theatre from one location to the next.  The tidal range is high - in excess of 8 metres on some spring tides - so the wildlife is varied too, and at very low spring tides many of the locals are to be seen on the beach searching for shellfish of all types.  There are wading birds that also take advantage of the sands exposed as the tide recedes.
